Corporate Innovation

Innovation labs, hackathons and an idea management system, plus readiness for ISO 56001.

Most organisations are not short of ideas — they are short of a path that turns an idea into a delivered project. We build the whole system with you: the event that generates ideas, whether a lab or a hackathon; the pipeline that receives, screens, funds and tracks them; and the indicators that prove the return to senior management and to award assessors.

What the service covers

Innovation Lab Design & Delivery

Framing the challenge precisely, selecting participants, facilitating the lab with design-thinking tools, and leaving with testable prototypes rather than general recommendations.

Hackathons & Challenges

Designing the challenge and judging criteria, managing registration and teams, running the event end to end, then a clear route for adopting the winning solutions internally.

Idea & Suggestion Management System

Building the idea life cycle from intake to delivery, screening criteria, evaluation committees, and the recognition mechanism that lifts participation and keeps it there.

ISO 56001 Innovation Management System

Gap analysis against the standard, building the documentation and policies, internal audit, and full preparation for the accredited certification body's audit.

Innovation Strategy & Governance

Defining priority innovation domains, the governance structure and roles, the innovation budget, and linking the system to the corporate strategy.

Innovation Measurement & Return

Input, output and impact indicators, return calculation on delivered projects, and reports usable as evidence in excellence and innovation awards.

How we deliver

  1. 1

    Frame the Challenge

Turning a broad problem into one specific, solvable challenge question — the step the whole event's success rests on.

  2. 2

    Generate

Running the lab or hackathon with facilitation tools that produce genuinely varied solutions, not variations on the status quo.

  3. 3

    Screen & Prototype

Evaluating ideas against published criteria, then prototyping and testing cheaply before committing.

  4. 4

    Adopt & Measure

Moving the winning solution into a project with an owner, budget and schedule, then measuring and documenting its impact.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between an innovation lab and a hackathon?+

A lab runs longer and deeper with the stakeholders who own the challenge, and produces considered solutions ready for adoption. A hackathon is shorter and competitive, opens the door to outside participants, and suits generating genuinely new ideas and raising the entity's profile. Many organisations need both, for different purposes.

Is ISO 56001 actually certifiable?+

Yes. ISO 56001 is a requirements standard published in 2024 and can be certified by an accredited body, unlike ISO 56002 which is guidance and not certifiable. As with every other ISO standard, we prepare you — the certificate itself is issued by an independent certification body.

How many participants are right?+

A lab works well with 15 to 30 participants in small teams. A hackathon absorbs far larger numbers, but scale demands enough facilitators and judges — without them output quality drops.
